Until two months ago, music lovers were basking in the magic of Kuma Sagar. Sometimes they flowed 'with the wind' and sometimes they jumped saying 'go away love'. From the city to the village youth, the Kuma Sagar craze spread. The atmosphere has changed since a month ago. Now there are some words that are popular on the tongues of children, young people and old people, "wherever the electricity is turned on, hot, pat, ...".

Street protests, victory rallies, marriage venues, house ruckus, assembly speeches and social media statuses are being presented with satire, passion and excitement, it is said, 'We are watching, watching the enemy...' The rebels of the Navy who won the panel in the Padmakanya campus in the Swaviyu elections held a few days ago danced to this song in a victory procession. MP Gyanendra Shahi also got angry in the parliament and pointed his finger at the government and said, 'Where have you gone again..?' No matter how, the song 'Dushman Hereko Heryai', which was released about 3 months ago from his own YouTube channel, is now trending globally. So far this song has been viewed more than 50 million times.

Social media users have congratulated Durgesh and wrote, 'The video has been viewed more than the population of Nepal.' He himself says, 'After this song, I am getting invited from festivals, stages, wedding parties to international events. I am managing my time.' That too with Durgesh's steps. He can be heard from the playground to one day concerts. The audience is stunned to hear him.

Durgesh's songs have never set the mood before. Whether it was 'Rato Rato Khursani Piro Chha' played in most of the public transport or 'Bichch Bichma...' sung by men in the atmosphere of Teej, Durgesh used to get as much applause as he did with insults. Durgesh confesses, 'My words were indigestible.' That's why he vowed, 'Now my children should not say that Baa has sung such bad words, I want to improve myself.'

Just as Durgesh's song is heating up the mood now, once singer Elina Chauhan sang 'Dhokebaaz Hau Tu' and 'Katta Handindehu' created a similar mood. The audience who came to the festival and stage show seemed to personify their pain, revenge and anger. People of all age groups were found singing with ease. They showed themselves by acting in Tik Tok, Reels. Sometimes the young generation used to enjoy themselves from Whiten's 'Hami ilha te ho ni bro' to Jibab's 'Milen Level Tero Bau Bola A'.

Sometimes they are seen dancing to 'Areli Kandaile' sung by Shantishri and sometimes they are found swaying to 'Ma Ta Dhale Dhale' sung by Shantirani Pariyar.

is not only on the streets and in the mass, sometimes the words of the song also find a place in the rostrum of the Parliament. Two months ago, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, while giving an answer in the Parliament, said, "There is a song in the market called Dhaleen Dhaleen Dhaleen. I often hear political leaders singing, "Dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo dhalo". This song is suitable for party celebrations for entertainment, but not so suitable for politics.'

Watching the 'enemy' of the audience

He satirized the opposition by adding more context to the song. Although there are always questions from music connoisseurs about the words of these songs, people from ordinary people to leaders are using these words to express their feelings. Why? Sociologist Chaitanya Mishra says, 'The wind has been blowing in the society for some time now. It is becoming widespread. It's happening. When someone catches something that no one has caught, then it becomes famous.'

In the language of sociologist Mishra, if someone expresses that kind of feeling, perception, belief and dream through different arts including words, music or painting, it is read, heard, watched, enjoyed and responded to. These songs are also a product of that.

As soon as these songs reach the masses, they are also criticized. Singer Deep Shrestha believes that such songs have gained priority due to the technology that is being developed recently. He is also surprised to see the ongoing trend. They say, 'Isn't it time to listen to music? I see only desperation in empty people. As soon as I hear the music, I only see that I have to dance and have fun.'

Deep feels that there are few people who listen to music, understand the words and meditate and are serious. "When we perform on stage, we have a feeling that we should only sing songs that we don't want to dance to. There may be a demand of time.' He thinks that this is the lack of a personality to lead the music.

Durgesh considers himself less of a singer and more of a performer. That's why he is confident even if he doesn't know how to sing a singer's song. It's not in me to find what I can't do. I had to find Durgesh Thapa in me,' he says, 'I feel like I was born to perform rather than sing, and the audience also accepts that.' Singer and composer Ujjwal Sagar, who is constantly practicing deep in

music, is observing this trend. He says, "Durgesh is a good performer recognized by the world, he presents himself in such a way as to create a dream."

musician Avas considers it one of the many genres of music. "Something is light and entertaining, it is not music, it is entertainment, it is a genre of art that entertains and raises serious issues," he says. Avas points out that this trend is not just now, it has been there for a long time. "It is mass-oriented, it was in the era of radio before, even when radio did not come, the popular genre is always there," he says. "It is like fast food."

"Every person has some enemy in their life." Do it tonight at the stadium. I am doing it now in Chasal. My 'single show' is happening at Hyatt. Invitations have come from many places including Australia, UK, USA. Timing is becoming very difficult.

How busy are you now?

I am more busy than before. Time management is becoming very difficult.

How long has it been, busy?

After 'Dushman Hereko Heryai', many invitations are coming to festivals, stage shows. From wedding parties to international events too. Some people send me videos from abroad and say, 'My daughter doesn't speak Nepali that much, but she sings this song like this.' It makes me very happy to hear that.

Watching the 'enemy' of the audience

You even postponed the concert programs so as not to disturb the examinees during the SEE exam period, how many programs are in the pipeline now?

There were about 16 shows during SEE, I didn't take. As children, teenagers are fans, I canceled the programs because when there is a fair festival around, their attention might be diverted, and the exams might be affected. Now I am doing 'one day event'. I did it at the stadium. I am doing it now in Chasal. My 'band show' is happening at Hyatt. There will be my 'single show'. I plan on how to manage my time. Invitations have come from many places including Australia, UK, USA. Time is getting very difficult.

Your songs have gone 'viral' before, why do your songs become hits?

Children, youth to old people are covered by my songs. It is not that only young people come to fairs. All kinds of audience come. Not everyone should. I choose words that everyone notices, everyone likes.

How do you write songs?

Sometimes I hum in the car. I'll record it when I hear a word. Sometimes I make music at home. When making music, I work on that song to see if it matches this song. I have a home studio at home. I will do it even at home. This is not the same. Depends on my mood.

How do you look at the psychology of society when making songs?

What is going on in everyone's life, what is important in everyone's life, what is cheating in life, what is hindering life, what is making everyone's life flourish. I will keep an eye on that. Every person, every businessman has an enemy. There is no person without enemies. There is one or the other enemy in your sector too. Everyone has enemies who envy their success. I have many enemies, I see many enemies. It's more fun to progress while the enemy is watching. It seems that the enemy is not only shooting and doing violence, but also confronting progress. I made this song by including that.

What kind of praise do you receive and what kind of criticism?

If there is any looseness in my song, I will be scolded. He says that it should be a song that can be watched and listened to by the society and the family. Now if there is a song with a message, it will be appreciated. There is no place where my last song is not played at school's farewell event, welcome event, wedding. What I've been thinking lately is that if music is made accessible to anyone anywhere, it will bring love and encouragement.

You call yourself a performer rather than a singer, why?

I feel like I was born to perform rather than sing. Even the audience accepts it. I will entertain those who come to the festival. I have a second demand at the same place. Sometimes I could not sing someone's song because I had to find Durgesh Thapa in me instead of finding it in me.

Watching the 'enemy' of the audience

Let's talk about art, the age of creation. How long do you see the lifespan of your own creations? Are your opening songs relatable now? The

opening song is not bad either. I have already sung the song of the current generation. But the enemy is also relating that song. Audience sources are understanding that Durgesh Thapa has been making such khatra songs since before. I used to walk with my own pattern. Today it seems that the enemy has done justice to my parton. What do you think needs to be done if

performer Durgesh needs to be improved?

The songs of today are more digestible than the previous songs. It has started to be sung anywhere and in any situation. Be likeable to everyone. This is what I want to improve, and have been improving. A man who has reached the hype does not like to back down. By looking at us, others can also get inspiration that such a person is like this. Now I don't want to go back. My theory is how to create good and how to make the creation even better.
