Education Foundation Nepal in collaboration with 'Kathasatha' has started 'Screenplay Writing Workshop' related to film. Screenwriter Bhavani Iyer, who has written films like 'Black', 'Gujaris', 'Lootera', 'Raazi', 'Syam Bahadur', is teaching writing to 16 writers in a workshop.
This workshop has been started with the aim of building relationships between writers with the craft of writing, filmmakers, and the industry by responding to the writers' stories. This workshop will be conducted from March 4 to 7 under the title 'Go Tell It on the Mountain'.
Film writers participating in this workshop will use Iyer's experience and knowledge to create stories in their in-progress stories. On the last day of the workshop, these screenwriters will tell (pitch) their story with producers, filmmakers and people related to the film. Applications with feature films were requested by the workshop . The application was opened giving preference to writers from women, tribes, Madhesi and sexual and minority communities. On the last day of the
workshop, an interactive program with Bhawani is also held. The organizer of this program in collaboration with distributor and filmmaker Prachandaman Shrestha informed. Kathasatha under Shiksha Foundation established in 2011 has been helping writers in writing. Katha Satha Katha believes in strengthening the community. Kathasatha has been organizing writing workshops and mentorship programs.
Bhavani said that she is very excited to share her experience with a Nepali screenwriter. 'I am very excited to share my experience and knowledge with a writer in Nepal. This is also my first visit to Nepal. The workshop will focus on what kind of story we South Asians should tell,' said Bhavani.
