The Karnali team of Tara Thapa and Suman Khadka came first in the National Youth Friendly Folk Dohori Competition. The group of Tara and Suman became the winner in the competition held jointly by the National Youth Council and Art, Literature Youth Network affiliated to the Council. They received a cash prize of one lakh rupees.

The Janakpur team consisting of Pritam Pokharel and Sabita Periyar came second in the two-day competition in Kathmandu. They got a cash prize of Rs. 30,000. Likewise, the Narayani team of Ghanshyam Periyar and Jamuna Vishwakarma and the Rapti team of Prakash Dura and Asha KC came third. 

They were awarded by Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary. Minister Choudhary said that the Lok Dohri held on the topic of youth awakening and empowerment played a role in preserving the art culture and creating motivation for the youth to do something within the country. Executive Vice President of the Council, Surendra Basnet, said that the competition was organized to convey the message of hope and trust to the Nepalese youth through Lok Dohri.

12 groups selected from across the country were included in the national competition.
