Born on 14 December 1924 in Peshawar (currently a city in Pakistan), Raj Kapoor is not only the most respected actor in the Indian film industry, but also a leading figure in taking Indian films to a golden age. Rajkapur's films had a strong influence on Nepali society at one time. He came to Kathmandu in 1973. He came to Nepal during the distribution and screening of the film Bobby, which was produced and directed by himself and made his son Shreshi Kapoor's debut.

As Raj Kapoor is famous in Bollywood, his brothers Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor are equally famous  . Rajkapur Neel Kamal, who made his debut in 1935 with the Enclave film, became popular after the film. His journey in direction started in 1948 with the film Aag. He continued to expand his influence through dozens of films like Awara Daji Jagate Raho, Mera Naam Joker, Ram Teri Ganga Maili.

Raj Kapoor is now considered as the family that gave birth to Indian social filmmakers. Because his sons from Randhir Kapoor to Shrishi Kapoor and Rajeev Kapoor also became famous in Bollywood at one time. Even Ranbir Kapoor, the third generation of his family, is ruling Bollywood.
