Senior musician and singer CK Rasaili has been honored by Radio Kantipur on Saturday through the Salaam Jeundo Itihasa program.

Rasaili, who has been active in music creation for more than 6 decades, was honored by Suzan Karki, Chief Marketing Officer of Kantipur TV and Radio, in a special program held at Kantipur premises.

84-year-old Rasaili, who emerged in the Nepali music scene in the 20s, has around 700 song records. Rasaili has collaborated with singers ranging from Narayan Gopal, Gopal Yonjan to Udit Narayan Jha and most recently Suraj Kumar Thapa of Chhimal. At first he was active in singing and later he enjoyed creating music. Saying that he has a special relationship with

radio, Rasaili expressed his happiness that Kantipur has started the tradition of honoring the living. He started singing from All India Radio when he was in Sillong, and the story of composer Natikaji entering the studio without even taking a voice test before singing a song in Nepal is also famous. He said that the honor program has given him energy and if time permits, he has thought of working with new artists.  In the

program, singer Gehoor Dahal sang the songs of Rasaili's Baath Maa Hashinhu and Kesana Maa Bholen Bol. Similarly, Suraj Kumar Thapa wore flower garlands and singer Lasatha Joshi performed the song "Dhuke Dil Ye" (Dhuke Dil) while walking in search of you. Rasaili also thanked the new artists for judging his song.

Radio Kantipur honored senior pop singer Sunil Upreti last month under Salaam Jeeundo Itihisalai. The honor program is being held on the last Saturday morning of every month. The program was broadcast live from Kantipur Max HD and Radio Kantipur.
