Directed by Naveen Subba, the film 'Gaon Inya Bato' is being screened in four theaters in Hong Kong from this December 27. The film, which will be screened with Chinese subtitles, is in final preparations for theatrical release in Hong Kong.
According to the producer Amod Rai, a theatrical screening of a Nepali film will be held for the first time in a Hong Kong hall. Earlier, special screenings of Nepali films were being held among the Nepali audience by booking the hall. However, Hong Kong-based producer Rai says that the theatrical performance was possible after the tireless efforts of the production team. According to him, this film is scheduled to be screened in Hong Kong theaters for a month. Hong Kong distribution company Golden Sean has handled the film's distribution .
'I always thought that our Nepali films should be shown internationally. We thought that our stories should be seen by the international audience as well. That's why this time we decided to screen a Nepali film in the hall where famous films of the world are being screened in Hong Kong," producer Rai said. In a special sense, this is an international exhibition of Nepali films.'
This film, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, has been screened at many film festivals from Busan to Sao Paulo.
Dayahang Rai and Pashupati Rai are the main actors in this film, the story of father and son is shown. The main story of the film is about the extent to which fathers and mothers struggle to fulfill their wishes/desires, from the love that parents have for their children.
