The Nepali film 'Shambala' has won the 'UNESCO Cultural Diversity Award' at the Asia Pacific Awards held in Australia. This award, known as the Asia Pacific Oscar, was won by the director of the film, Meen Bham.
Earlier, actress Thinley Lhamo won the award for this film, which made history as the first film to be selected in the main competition of the world-renowned film festival Berlin. Thinley won the Locarno award for
acting. This film, which has received positive reviews, is on the verge of international screening after Nepal. The
film stars Karma, Sonam Topden along with actress Thinley. The film tells the story of Pema, a character who goes in search of her lost husband, and the story of 'Shambala' revolves around the ups and downs of that character.
