'Flood light' has been installed for the first time in Nepal's cricket ground. 5 'Flood Lights' have been installed in Extratech Oval Cricket Ground. The stadium's managing director Vinod Kunwar informed that the test work of 'flood light' installed at a cost of more than 7 crore rupees will start from Wednesday.
Legends Cup Cricket Tournament was organized on 28th February 2080 of the stadium which was laid foundation stone on 29th June 2080.
Since then, more than 100 games have been played on this ground at the district and local level. Nepal's under-19 World Cup women's team and Nepal Premier League team Lumbini Lions also practiced in this field. 15 of the 46 matches of the Prime Minister's Cup cricket starting from February 25 will be held at this ground. Necessary work is going on in the ground for the Prime Minister's Cup as well.
Managing Director Kunwar said that he is happy that the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has chosen Extratech Oval for the Prime Minister's Cup Cricket. Not only will the game be played on the field with seven pitches, it has also entered the stage of day-night match under 'flood light' for the first time in Nepal. After completing the light testing in a few days, it will be ready for the day-night match. Kunwar said that they are preparing to increase the capacity of the light if necessary and that it will be tested by the relevant bodies and the players as well.
On the one hand, the ground has been prepared and the work of 'flood light' is going on, while on the other hand, the construction of other structures is also going on at a fast pace. The pitch for net practice has also reached its final stage . Six pitches are being made for net practice .
So far, Kunwar said that apart from the land, more than 25 million rupees have been spent on the field. 2 buildings of four floors are being built . Where VIP box will be player box, changing room and media box . The work of these structures is in the final stage.
A parapit with a capacity of 900 seats will be built in the VIP building. A parapit with a capacity of 25,000 spectators will be built in this field, which is expected to be completed within the next two years. Kunwar said that this work will start in some time. According to him, the parapet with a capacity of 5,000 spectators will be ready within a year.
