Nepalese national volleyball player Usha Bhandari has been sponsored by Bhatbhateni Supermarket for 1.5 million rupees.

A one-year sponsorship agreement was signed between Bhatbhateni Supermarket and Departmental Stores Pvt Ltd and player Usha on Friday. According to the agreement, Bhatbhateni will provide Rs 10 lakh for Usha and its subsidiary T-10 Sports Brand will provide Rs 5 lakh.

For that, an agreement was signed between director Kalyan Gurung on behalf of Bhatbhateni, Alokjung Joshi, head of business development from T-10 Sports and national player Usha.

According to director Gurung, the contract with Usha was made by giving priority to Nepal's national sports volleyball and women players related to it. He said that although his organization has been sponsoring players of other sports in the past, it started with volleyball.

Joshi, head of development of T-10, said that according to the organization's aim of supporting women's empowerment, it is sponsored to help women players to advance their game. He said the sponsorship money will be sent to his bank account monthly. Apart from 1.5 million, Joshi informed that the necessary T10 sportswear will also be provided to him throughout the year. After the

sponsorship, player Usha said that this kind of support from the private sector has encouraged her and women's volleyball as a whole to reach a higher level. She, who plays for Nepal Police Club, expressed her gratitude to the sponsor, Bhatbhateni Supermarket.

Usha led the Kathmandu Spikers in the recently concluded Everest Women's Franchise League Volleyball.
