After being defeated by South Korea 1-0, China reached the third stage of the Asian World Cup qualifiers. On the last day of the dramatic second stage, Indonesia also managed to reach the third stage on Wednesday.

PSG's Lee Kwang-in scored the decisive goal in South Korea's victory in Group C in Seoul. Thailand could not take advantage of the Chinese defeat. The team finished third in the group. Thailand could only manage a 3-1 success in defeating Singapore by three goals. Between China and Thailand, there was a tie in everything from points to goal difference. These include Qatar, Kuwait, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, China, Oman, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Indonesia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain. 

Now those teams will be divided into three groups of 6 teams each. There will be league stage matches. All these teams have been selected for the Asia Cup. No team from South Asia could reach the third stage. The last two teams in each group will play the third round of Asia Cup qualifiers. 

There will be a total of 24 teams. There will be 18 teams that will be eliminated from the second round of World Cup qualifiers. Along with Nepal, there are India, Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, Turkmenistan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Philippines, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Yemen.

The three best teams from the first stage will also play this stage. These teams are Bhutan, Maldives and Laos. The decision of three more teams has been stopped in the first stage and the play-off between the six teams will be done. In the play-offs are Cambodia, Macao, Mongolia, Brunei, East Timor and Sri Lanka. 

Nepal-Yemen draw

Nepal broke the losing streak and goal drought in the last match of the second round of the Asian World Cup Qualifiers and drew 2-2 with Yemen on Wednesday night. This match was Nepal's 100th match for goalkeeper captain Kiran Chemjong Limbu. He is the most played player from Nepal.

Sanjeev Bishta and Jelepsijang Karki from Nepal scored goals in the Saudi Arabian match in Dammam. It is the first goal scored by both of them from Nepal. Nepal was deprived of victory after Yemen pulled back a goal in the injury time of the second half. Yemen took the lead from a penalty in the ninth minute. Naseem Al-Gahwasi scored. Then Nepal's Sanjeev scored in the 22nd minute and Jelepsi scored in the 66th minute to take the lead. Mohammed Al-Dahi scored in the first minute of injury time of the second half.
