The Government of Nepal has allocated 600 million rupees for the 10th National Games to be held in Surkhet this year. In the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament, Finance Minister Varshman Pun presented the budget for 2081/82 and allocated the amount for the next national sports.

60 crore for the 10th National Games

The government has allocated Rs 3.5 billion to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This amount is 63 crore more than in the current financial year. It is said that 1 billion 300 million of the total budget will be spent on building sports infrastructure and organizing competitions. In addition to increasing the participation of women in the budget speech, it is also said that the national team will be prepared for strong participation in the Olympics and Asian Games.

It is mentioned that the players of the national team who achieve excellent results in sports competitions and increase the prestige of the nation will be encouraged and the original games of Nepal Dandibio and Bagchal will be specially promoted. It is mentioned in the budget statement that the organization of the international competition of e-sports connected with modern technology, the upgrading of the Trivi Cricket Ground in Kirtipur and the construction of the Phapla Cricket Stadium will be expedited.

In addition, the government has said that the budget has been allocated to build Moolpani Cricket Ground in Kathmandu and Girija Prasad Koirala Stadium in Biratnagar as projects of national pride. It is said that the Gautam Budh Stadium under construction in Bharatpur will be carried forward in partnership with the association, state and local levels.

1 billion 30 million rupees have been allocated towards sports infrastructure. It is mentioned that sports will be promoted in schools by giving sports training to teachers and sports competitions will be conducted for children. Similarly, it is included in the budget statement that sports scholarships will be arranged for talented children and the sports economy will be increased by increasing the involvement of the private sector in the construction of sports infrastructure.
