Childhood days were spent in new clothes and the sky of Dakshina. The experience of coming Dasain at that time and the experience now is very different.
I don't feel the excitement, enthusiasm and happiness of childhood days. At that time, the weather changed during Dasain and it was a different joy.
At that time, it was very fun to play ping . He had to wait a long time for his turn. Should have fought. Ping was made in a village. Everyone used to come to play the same ping . Children were not given their turn, it was the turn of adults. Those who came with their parents, their turn would come soon . So all the children used to come with their parents . I studied outside the village since childhood, I didn't know many people from the village/house. So I remember taking my uncle to play ping .
It used to be that new clothes were available as soon as Dasain was called. On one Dasain, my father brought a sweater from Kathmandu. I wore that sweater for a long time . Even Dakshina we children will get little . I waited for it to increase next year, and I will get that much. When the importance of Dakshina was forgotten, it increased. At that time, there was a swagger like going to many places to collect Dakshina. The grandfather used to give the most Dakshina to the children . He used to give us 50 rupees . That was the most Dakshina . Other relatives used to get 5 rupees anywhere.
I used to walk everywhere from my mother's house to tap the tika . I used to take him to the places where his father told him not to go . I allowed my father to pay off the debt by collecting Dasain Dakshina. At that time, my father had a loan . Mother fell ill while giving birth to us. At that time, my mother incurred a lot of debt while being hospitalized. Dad told us that when we were little . I also used to spend less, on children . At that time, I deposited Dakshina's money in a bank account and gave 511 rupees to my father. Maybe then I was studying in class 4 . That money was not enough to pay the debt. But, it helped the father .
To say Dasain is a meeting with Phupudidi for me . Didi loved her very much. And he always used to come to our house from Kathmandu on Dasain. As soon as Dasain was said, it was thought to be Phupudidi . Even now, I swear by him .
It's still Christmas but the childhood experience is no longer . Maybe the responsibility will increase . Back then, little things made me happy. Couldn't be so happy now! Even if you go to the same place now, you will not find the same friends . Even though everything has changed, it has been such an experience! Now I think I should give time to my family during Dasain.
