The Judicial Council has recommended to appoint 5 new judges along with the chairman in the special court. The council meeting held on Friday recommended the appointment of Sudarshandev Bhatt as the president of the special court.

He was previously working in the High Court Janakpur. Similarly, it is recommended to appoint Narayan Prasad Paudel, Hemant Rawal, Dilliratna Shrestha and Umesh Koirala as members. Rawal and Shrestha were working in Birganj Bench of Surkhet High Court and Koirala High Court in Janakpur.

There is a constitutional provision that the Council of Ministers appoints special courts on the recommendation of the Judicial Council. The current chairman of the special court, Teknarayan Kunwar, has been transferred to the High Court Janakpur.  After Kunwar came to the leadership of the court that hears corruption cases, there was a significant improvement and the cases were decided in a hurry.
