The Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, has commented that political parties are unable to accept the highest practice of federalism as they have grown up from the central mentality. He said that the administrative and security agencies are reluctant to accept federalism as they come from the practice of unitary state system.
In Kantipur Television's 'Mukhyamantri Senga Kantipur' program, Chief Minister Karki said that the centralized mentality has dominated the established political parties since the beginning of the multi-party system. He said that this is the reason why there is a stir in the state when there is some change in the central politics. Chief Minister Karki said, "If it rains in the center, rain will fall in the state, and the state will have to wear umbrellas."
Chief Minister Karki said that the state government has become unstable because a single party did not get a clear majority in the state assembly. "Due to the instability of the government, the development of the province has not been able to accelerate. The government has been formed by two major parties to ensure political autonomy and effective service delivery," he said. In the
program, the deputy leader of Koshi Province Parliamentary Party of Congress and former minister Himal Karki said that the tendency of the center to take the political decisions of the province has made the provincial government unstable. Baburam Gautam, leader of the main opposition Maoist and former speaker of Koshi, said that political instability is the obstacle to the development and economic growth of the province.
Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province Revathiraman Bhandari claimed that the government has given enough business for the current session of the state assembly. "Due to political instability, many bills could not be passed in the previous sessions", he said, "The provincial government has given a lot of business for the current sixth session." Minister Bhandari said that six bills have been registered in the provincial assembly and informed that other bills are also in the process of being registered in the provincial assembly.
Tourism, Forest and Environment Minister Sadanand Mandal informed that the government has declared the year 2082 as the tourism year because the contribution of the tourism sector is important for economic growth. He said that in addition to developing, expanding and promoting the tourism sector in the year of tourism, new tourist destinations will be identified and their development expanded and promoted.

Yograj Dahal, a student of Mahendra Morang Adarsh Versatile Campus Biratnagar, called the attention of the state government to protect the land by saying that the land of Mahendra Morang Campus has been encroached upon.
