Congress made Badshah Kurmi, the main accused in the Nirmala Kurmi death case, a minister

Kurmi is one of the 8 persons recommended to be investigated by the inquiry committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs under the coordination of Joint Secretary Hiralal Regmi on 2nd October 2078.

Banke's rights activist Ruvi Khan has been protesting continuously saying that Badshah Kurmi is involved in the suspicious death of Nirmala of Paraspur and the seizure of property. In the year 2078, 14 people from Banke, including Khan, reached Kathmandu on foot for three weeks and staged a protest and sit-in at Maitighar Mandal, saying that there was no investigation under the guise of a political party. After human rights workers, professionals, intellectuals and others expressed their solidarity in their movement, the Ministry of Home Affairs formed an investigation committee under the leadership of Joint Secretary Regmi.

The investigation committee formed by the government in October 2078 submitted a report to the then Home Minister Balkrishna Khan recommending an investigation against 8 people including Badshah on October 14. After submitting the report, the protestors brought back the protest program in the belief that an investigation would be done. However, rights activist Ruby Khan has complained that the police did not initiate an investigation on the accused Kurmi and on the contrary won the state assembly election from the Congress in November 2079.

2066 Nirmala's husband Mahalu Kurmi died due to time . After that, Nirmala, who was living with her two sons Ramsagar aged 18 and Suresh aged 14, became helpless after the death of her two sons within 2 weeks in 2068. After that, the gang was active to grab Nirmala's house and 4 bigha of land . Nirmala filed a complaint with the district administration on October 30, 2068 saying that she was unsafe. The police did not listen to the complaint and after 2075 she suddenly became uncontactable from the village. After suspicious information about his death in India reached the police on 14th Chait, 2076, the community suspected that he had been murdered.

After that, on 20th of Chait 20, 2077, after the pressure of the local people, the locals along with the rights activist Khan filed a complaint against 8 people namely Ramesh Thapa, Parvati Bista, Krishnamurari Singh, Kunwar Babansingh Thakuri, Urmila Kanojia, Amarlal Kurmi and Dhirendra Singh at the District Police Office Banke along with Khan. Khan, who is fighting for Nirmala's justice, said that she felt more insecure when she heard that she was going to become a minister by making her an MP, which would lead to impunity.

'Yesterday, they gave awards by making MPs,' she said, 'now they started making ministers, it created a situation where criminals are rewarded in the society and leaders like us are punished and unsafe.' She complained that their complaints were not heard.
