Movie Lab is going to conduct a 2-week 'Producers Workshop' in Nepal. This workshop, which runs from August 23 to October 3, is especially targeted at producers.

Even now in Nepal, 'producers' are understood as people who invest in films. However, since the 'producers' have to carry all the burden from the concept to the distribution of the film, this workshop is being held with the aim of providing information, teaching and sharing experience and mentorship.

Destroying the idea of ``producer'' as an investor, this workshop aims to guide the serious responsibility of the producer in the film. There will be 10 classes in this workshop. Praveen Kumar Rawat, Sushant Shrestha and Mehka Luintel are the trainers (mentors) of the workshop. Mehka holds a master's degree in Creative Producing from Columbia University. Sushant Shrestha and Praveen Kumar Rawat are active producers of Nepali films. The organizer has said that information about other mentors of the

workshop will be provided gradually. So far, Anup Paudel and Rajan Kathet are from Nepal, while Tang Yi, winner of the Cannes Short Film Palme Door, has been selected from the international side. This workshop will be organized targeting both directors and producers. All Nepalis who have made short films and feature films will be able to participate in the workshop. Documentary filmmakers are also said to be able to participate in the workshop. Also, this workshop will have a distribution class .

'Chalachitra Lab' has planned to hold a workshop on various topics such as cinematography, screenplay writing, production design and so on after this workshop. Praveen Kumar Rawat of the Lab said that the Lab will do these kinds of programs to encourage the young filmmakers of South Asia. According to him, Bangladesh is also showing its desire to cooperate with the lab and has already started this kind of workshop there.

'Chalachitra Lab thinks that we will continue to cooperate with different countries in this way . Now talks are going on with 2 countries including Bangladesh. We are very excited," Praveen said, "Everyone who is interested in producing will be able to apply for this workshop.
