Beileybridge added to the load as the concrete bridge was not built

Pappu Construction has taken over the construction of the concrete bridge and constructed the Belybridge near the derelict structure. The contract of Pappu Construction, which has completed only 10 percent in eight years, has ended in the previous month. After terminating the contract with Pappu, Road Planning Office Gorkha has signed a new contract. But the work has not started yet. Due to the fact that the concrete bridge was not built on time, 16 million 14 lakhs were spent for the construction of Beili Bridge. The cost of building new concrete bridges has also increased.

The Blue Energy Company, the promoter of the Super Trishuli Hydropower Project, has constructed a bailibridge in coordination with the road department about 70 meters above the structure of the concrete bridge which is in a derelict state. Blue Energy is building a 100 megawatt Super Trishuli hydropower project based on 'Run of River'. Niranjan Regmi, the director of the project, said that the bridge was also constructed with the aim of delivering the necessary structures for the project to Buttar along Prithvi Highway.

"First of all, we have built this bridge as part of social responsibility, the bridge is also the need of the people here," he said.

Two spans of 48/48 meters have been provided by the road department for the construction of the belay bridge. The length of the Bely Bridge is 116 meters, built at Ichchakamana-3 Chumkhola of Chitwan on the right side of Trishuli River and Gandaki-1 Butar of Gorkha on the right side.

The width of the bridge is 4.2 meters, said Salil Devkota, the company's environmental consultant. The company said that a bridge with a capacity of 20 tons was built at a time. The Belybridge company built it in four months. "Even though it took some time for the study and construction of the foundation, the connection work was completed in 9 days," he said.

Belybridge has made it easy to reach Gorkha market through Makaising, Patiswara, Namjung, Ahale towards Gorkha. As the bridge was not built on time, the residents of Tanglichok, Makaising, Bhumlichok of Gandaki Rural Municipality were forced to carry their agricultural produce to Prithvi Highway through the suspension bridge.

Pappu Construction took over the construction of concrete bridge over Trishuli River after signing the contract on 071 Asar 29. The deadline for the construction of the bridge was extended to June 22, 1980 after the contract period of 42 months ie 28 December 2014 had passed. In eight years, no other structure was built except raising pillars on both sides. Pappu was not able to take the necessary equipment for the construction of the bridge to Butar across Trishuli and was also demanding that a belay bridge should be constructed to take the necessary equipment.

After only 10 percent of the bridge was stopped, the contract of Pappu Construction was terminated and a new contract was issued by the road department. The new contract has also increased the cost of the bridge. At that time, Pappu had undertaken the construction of the bridge at a cost of 174.6 million. When the old contract was terminated and a new contract was entered into, an agreement was reached for 225 million to build the same bridge. Head of Road Planning Office Gorkha, Amindra Khadka, said that an agreement was signed with Jalap Sewalung JV on 2nd December 2018 for the construction of the bridge. Now the goal is to build the bridge within 42 months.

"After the construction of the new bridge, the structures provided for Belibridge will be returned to the road department," said Khadka, "two spans of 48/48 meters have been provided by the road department."
