The gallery has been established in memory of Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, a national legend and the first Nepali woman to climb Mount Everest.
According to the Pasang Lhamu Mountaineering Foundation, a gallery has been established in Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-2 Lukla with the aim of commemorating the work and achievements of Sherpas during their lifetime. The gallery built on the initiative of
foundation was inaugurated on Sunday. In the gallery, the history of Sherpa's life from 1961 to 1993 along with the history of various mountain climbing is covered. More than 500 local and foreign tourists visited the gallery on the opening day. The
Foundation has said that it is preparing to establish a gallery of Pasang Lhamu in the International Mountain Museum in Pokhara along with Lukla. On April 22, 1993, Sherpa successfully climbed Mount Everest for the first time on behalf of a Nepali woman.
