The United Nepali Diaspora Organization has submitted suggestions to the government to amend and revise the proposed Non-Resident (Diaspora/Expatriate) Nepali Law Amendment and Integration Bill, 2083. The organization's President Sonam Lama and other officials have made such suggestions after meeting Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal.

President Sonam Lama, while addressing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informed that a detailed suggestion letter to be included in the bill has been submitted. 'The government is ready to solve the problems of genuine Non-Resident Nepalis,' President Lama said, quoting Foreign Minister Khanal, 'We will also work on the same model as how various countries of the world have addressed NRNAs.'

Lama said that the United Nepali Diaspora Organization will study the facilities and convenience provided by foreign countries to NRNAs and will also make suggestions to the government.

The organization has stated that it is necessary to legally and practically link the skills, knowledge and capital of the Nepali diaspora around the world with the overall development of Nepal. It has been emphasized that laws should be formulated with the aim of further strengthening the relationship of Nepalis living in the diaspora with Nepal.

The United Nepali Diaspora Organization is a non-profit and non-political organization established in 2022. Similarly, Lama said that it will take the initiative to attract investment in various sectors of Nepal.
