The Ohio-based Association of Nepali Origin (ANO) has thanked the Government of Nepal for setting up a separate desk for Nepali origin citizens at the arrival and departure halls of Tribhuvan International Airport.

Recently, at a program organized in Ohio, USA, ANO President Dilli Adhikari handed over a letter of thanks to Nepali Acting Ambassador to the US Sharad Raj Aran.

Receiving the letter of thanks, Acting Ambassador Aran said that he was happy to receive the letter openly praising the government's work.

At the program, ANO President Adhikari said that Nepalis around the world are excited about setting up a desk at the immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport to emotionally connect with Nepali origin citizens. Based on the request of ANO, the government had set up a desk on 8 Chaitra, making special arrangements for foreign citizens of Nepali origin. During the program, ANO drew the government's attention to the discrimination against people of Nepali origin in the first draft of the Non-Resident Nepali Act 2082, which is currently under discussion in Nepal.
