Godavari Municipality of Lalitpur and Wyndham City in Victoria, Australia have formally signed a 'Friendship City' agreement. 

The agreement on cooperation was signed at a special program organized in Wyndham City. The agreement was signed by Mayor Preet Singh on behalf of Wyndham City and Administrative Chief Man Bahadur Khadka on behalf of Godavari Municipality. They thanked tourism entrepreneur and activist DN Ghising for the necessary coordination for the agreement. 

Both sides have described this cooperation as an important and historic achievement in expanding international relations at the local level. 'This historic agreement aims to expand mutual cooperation, exchange of experiences and long-term relations between the two cities,' the agreement states. 

Godavari Municipality of Lalitpur is known as an area rich in natural beauty, biodiversity and cultural heritage. Similarly, Wyndham City is known as an excellent example of modern infrastructure, multicultural society and sustainable urban development. 

In the agreement, both sides have committed to further expanding mutual visits, cultural exchanges and institutional cooperation in the future. 

The event was attended by a significant number of Nepali-origin entrepreneurs, businessmen and local representatives. Participants welcomed the agreement as a historic step towards further strengthening the long-term diplomatic relations between Nepal and Australia at the local level. 

Speakers at the event expressed the hope that cooperation in the areas of education, tourism, culture, environmental protection, economic development and community development would bring long-term benefits to the two cities.
