Nepali diplomatic missions in China are celebrating International Health Day today and promoting Nepal's tourism. On Wednesday, Nepali Consulates in Guangzhou, Chengdu and Lhasa, China, promoted Nepal as a health destination in a program organized among the Chinese and Nepali communities.
Acting Ambassador Roshan Khanal gave information about Nepal's Ayurveda, meditation, health and other issues at the program organized by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing. Consul General Laxmi Niraula told Kantipur that Health Day was celebrated in Lhasa on Wednesday evening. Suresh Raut, Ambassador General in Chengdu, said that the day was celebrated in conjunction with tourism as well as the economy.
Participants said that the announcement of the International Day under Nepal's leadership was a proud achievement for Nepal's multilateral diplomacy. Nepal has been embracing wellness as part of its cultural and natural heritage, said Ambassador General Bharat Khanal in Guangzhou. He said that Nepal, nestled in the Himalayas, carries the legacy of mountains, air, yoga, pranayama, meditation and Ayurveda. He said, “These traditions are not just Nepal’s treasures. They are a gift to the world for nurturing the mind, body and soul.” The government has declared 2027 as the Year of Wellness. The missions have invited Chinese people to experience the bowl sound healing method, peace, Ayurvedic knowledge and the beauty of the natural landscape. Yoga instructor and practitioner of Himalayan civilization Ramesh Sitaula, known as Amar Guru, emphasized the connection between body and mind through yoga practice, meditation, breathing awareness and meditation. The participants had a live bowl demonstration and sound healing experience.
