Nepali students studying at Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), two of the world's best universities, are going to hold a conference on Nepal. The first-ever conference on Nepal is going to be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 25 and 26 under the title 'The Nepal Discourse 2026'.
The conference, organized in collaboration with Leadership Academy Nepal and Kantipur Media Group, will focus on issues related to the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in various fields. The conference has four main themes - AI and the future labor market, new generation leadership, strong institutions, and diaspora participation.
The two-day program will feature about a dozen panel discussions and 'fireside chats'. “We are excited to have the opportunity to bring together key leaders from Nepal and the diaspora to deeply analyze the current challenges related to skilled manpower and develop a strategic vision for the next 10 years,” said Utsav Kharel, a graduate student at Harvard University and involved in the program planning. The
conference is expected to attract around 400 participants. It will feature around 30 speakers and facilitators from Nepal and the Nepali diaspora in the US. Speakers include Biswas Dhakal, Co-Founder of FOneSoft, Prashan Dhungel, Founder of Grow by Data, Sameer Maskey, Founder of Fusionmachines, David Sislen, Division Director for Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka at the World Bank, Peter Blair, Professor at Harvard University, and Rahul Agarwal, Chairman of Siddhartha Bank. After the
conference, a roadmap called ‘Strategic Foresight 2035’ will be prepared. The organizers have stated that an invitation is required to participate in the event and those interested can send a request for an invitation through the official website.
