95 Nepalis who illegally entered the United States through the Mexican border have been deported together. 95 Nepalis who had illegally entered the United States through the Mexican border and were residing in the southern part of the United States at different times were arrested by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the highest US agency responsible for controlling and regulating local immigration, and deported on Thursday, local time, in coordination with Homeland Security. The deportees, including 92 men and 3 women, were handed over to the immigration department at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Friday.

According to the Nepali Embassy in Washington, DC, the largest number of the 95 people to be deported together is 35 people from Dang. The embassy has stated that there are 20 from Rukum West, 12 from Rukum East, 3 from Gulmi, 2 from Baglung, 3 from Rolpa, 2 from Kathmandu, 2 from Myagdi, 2 from Banke and 1 each from Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Bardiya, Sarlahi, Arghakhanchi, Dolpa, Sankhuwasabha, Jajarkot, Lamjung, Kavre, Dhading, Salyan, Pyuthan and Parbat.

Embassy and Consulate General officer Juna Adhikari said that the Nepal addresses of those who were deported were known as they entered illegally from the Mexican border and were issued travel documents when they did not have passports. The number of illegal Nepali immigrants to be deported from the US since January 2025, including 95 people, has reached 680. 

Earlier, Homeland Security had deported 585 people who were targeted by ICE from January 2025 to January 2026. 1,365 Nepalis who had been living in the US illegally and without documents for years were put on the list to be deported within a year.

The US government is implementing the deportation policy, which was initiated by the Trump administration's main plan, the US Department of Homeland Security, and the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the highest US agency that coordinates and regulates immigration and immigration control, with greater rigor. 

The largest number of illegal immigrants living in the US are from Mexico, El Salvador, India, Guatemala, Honduras, China, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Brazil, and Colombia.
