A Nepali family was brutally murdered in Mantua, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA. Details of how the incident occurred, which occurred at around 5:15 a.m. local time on Monday, February 24, have not been made public. In this incident, which took place 14 miles (22 kilometers) from the capital, Washington, DC, 50-year-old Chhatra Bahadur Thapa killed his 31-year-old daughter Mamta Thapa and 51-year-old wife Binda Thapa. Chhatra also died during the arrest. What is the murder of a Nepali family in the United States? Understand in five questions and answers The Fairfax County Police Department is investigating the incident. After reaching the scene and collecting evidence and preventing possible human loss, Fairfax Police Chief Kevin Davis told reporters about the incident. An edited excerpt from Davis's account of the incident to reporters:
I'm having a hard time describing this incident. The hatchet recovered from the scene had a blade that was about 10 inches long. By the time the son-in-law arrived, the father-in-law was attacking his daughter with a sharp weapon. He then pointed the weapon at the son-in-law. So, three people were attacked in this incident. The daughter died on the spot due to the weapon attack. The wife was injured (who has passed away by the time of filing this report). And the injured son-in-law is in critical condition and is being treated at a local hospital.
Fortunately, the baby is safe. It would be an understatement to call this scene bloody. The damage, chaos and destruction this 50-year-old man has caused to his own family is unimaginable.
Our police officers reached the scene within minutes of receiving the information. When they entered the apartment, the father-in-law was attacking the son-in-law. The police repeatedly ordered the culprit, the father-in-law, to stop attacking. But he did not stop attacking, instead he continued attacking the son-in-law right in front of the police.
One of the two people who called 911 was the son-in-law. But before the police arrived, he had tried to stop his father-in-law. Of course, he did it to save his baby. The police, who were watching the scene, shot and killed the (criminal) who had killed his own daughter and brutally stabbed his own wife and son-in-law. I can't even imagine what was going on inside those four walls.
It's commendable that the neighbor called 911 after hearing this noise. What was the state of mind and circumstances that forced him to use a knife on his own family in such a brutal way? I can't understand.
We all take the loss of any life seriously. A Fairfax County police officer would only shoot to save a life, and that's what happened today.
Our policeman shot to save the life of a man who was being attacked by his father-in-law. The man is still in critical condition and is reportedly undergoing surgery.
There have never been any reports of domestic violence or other incidents from that apartment before. The police have no such records. But there is no one to give a statement about what happened there. Three people have died, the son-in-law is unconscious. The only person who is conscious is the baby.
