Malaysia has given a special period from January 19 to March 31 to employers who have requested a quota to bring in foreign workers for 2025. This will pave the way for bringing in workers from source countries, including Nepal.

Malaysia was granted permission to bring in foreign workers on October 1 until December 31. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday, the special period will apply to all sectors and sub-sectors approved by the government.

The Ministry of Home Affairs will discuss all applications received from January 19 to March 31 with the relevant monitoring ministries and proceed with a decision. The ministry said that these applications will be evaluated in accordance with the existing legal provisions and conditions related to the employment of foreign workers.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has again urged employers to apply directly through the Foreign Worker Management One-Stop Center without using agents or third parties.
