Writers honored at Sahitya Parishad Bhutan conference

Various writers and creators have been honored on the occasion of the 11th conference of the Sahitya Parishad Bhutan. Krishna Subba, the author of Sanchaman Jyo Jyo, was awarded the Muna Memorial Award at the event held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA.

Subba was awarded $1501 and a certificate courtesy of Bhakta Ghimire. Similarly, Govinda Humgain, Ammar Tumbapo and Chhabi Neupane were awarded the Sukra Music Award. The same creators were given $501 and a certificate. At the conference, Canada Chapter Director Khagendra Gautam and Krish Adhikari jointly presented a digital presentation on Nepali literature after rehabilitation.

Ait Singh Rai, Bishwanath Chhetri, Padam Bishwakarma, Ratna Gurung, Amal Thulung, Ramesh Diyali were honored for their contributions at various times. Virginia-based Brain President R. B. Subba recalled the days of Serapi College.

At the program presented under the chairmanship of Ganga Lamitare, Gandaki Putra recited a portrait poem on his own subject. Editor-in-Chief of Bhutanese Literature Shivlal Dahal presented a working paper titled 'Nepali Language Heritage Day - A Concept'. He proposed at the conference that 'Let's celebrate Nepali Language Heritage Day' by fixing a date in September.

Kuber Kuinkel Bhuwantare's 'Antyako Suru' verse poem was also released at the program. The Sahitya Parishad of Bhutan is a non-profit organization.
