There will be a competition between three people under the leadership of NRNA Australia, an organization of expatriate Nepalis. Those elected in the elections to be held next Saturday will hold a two-year term.

According to Election Commission Vice Chairman Raju Upadhyay, Santosh Kunwar from Queensland, Bhairav Dhakal from Western Australia and Sanjeev Gorkhali Dhakal from Northern Territory have filed their candidature.

All three who are claiming for the leadership have worked in various working committees of NRNA.  Santosh  Sanjeev Darbin is the current Secretary General of NRNA Australia and the current Vice President of NRNA Australia.

Similarly, Bhairav is a person who has experience as vice president in NRNA Australia. All three candidates for the chairmanship are involved in different businesses. Dhakal has a hotel business in Perth, while Kunwar has a student consulting and migration business in Brisbane. Sanjeev is also involved in business in the local area.

According to the Election Commission, Babin Mishra and Ramesh Paudel have nominated for the post of vice president, while Arjun Gautam, Bharatmani Devkota and Chudamani Sapkota have registered their names for the general secretary. Similarly, Luna Sivakoti and Nijan Choulagai have nominated for treasurer and Ganeshraj Gautam and Kalyan Khadka for secretary.

The Election Commission has informed that Riznu Adhikari and Ratna Gautam have been nominated as coordinators of Nari Park Australia under NRNA. Out of 8 international committee members, 15 people have applied.

All the three who have become candidates for the president have made an election slogan to further develop NRNA as a common organization of all Nepalis in Australia and to give confidence that their organization exists. They have been saying that the organization will be made stronger and more sophisticated to solve the problems faced by the Nepalis here.

NRNA Australia, which has about 16,000 voters, is doing its voting entirely online. 21 working committee members will be elected from the election, for which 33 people have nominated . Up until now, the working committee has been elected unopposed in the majority seats including the coordinator in Tasmania and Queensland, informed the Vice Chairman of the Election Commission Upadhyay.

The issue of passport mobile camp, which is considered important and necessary in the NRNA elections in Australia, has not been raised by any of the presidential candidates. Earlier, NRNA Australia was involved in a controversy after running a passport camp with more money than the government had allotted.  NRNA Australia's chief candidate is expected to bring the agenda of conducting free passport camps, but no one has raised this issue.

NRNA Australia's election preparation is no less than a party election. On behalf of the Public Relations Committee Australia and Pravasi Nepali Mancha, who are active here, they have informally announced their candidacy in separate panels.

Although the candidate is making it clear that there is no politics in the NRNA, he is reaching out to every state in Australia to get voters to vote for him.
