Nepali Fair with Kumari's Rath and Lakh Dance celebrated in Paris

The 20th Nepali Fair has been organized in Paris with dance performances reflecting the costumes and culture of different tribes of Nepal and various Nepali dishes.

The Nepali Cultural Center has organized a fair to promote Nepal in the park where there is a huge statue of Buddha located in Paris's Beau de Vansen Park. Hundreds of French people including Nepalis participated in the fair which was held on Saturday and Sunday.  

Kathmandu Valley's original festival of Kumari's Rath as well as Lakhe Nach attracted Nepali and French people. The French said that the Nepali dishes like mum, pani roti, dalbhat, sellroti, chanachtapte, pakoda, laddu, panipuri, pickles reminded them of their trip to Nepal.  
French and Nepalese who have acquired special expertise in Nepal to promote tourism in various areas of Nepal gave presentations on more than half a dozen topics including Tamang culture, Rolwaling region, seismic risk of Nepal, Newari culture, community.

Doko, Kharpan, Dalo, Dhiki, Charkhe Ping, food items and other handicrafts of Nepal were displayed and sold. "As soon as I entered, I felt as if I had entered a village in Nepal," French journalist Mathieu Arafgender, who has visited Nepal seven times, told Kantipur.

The dance shown in dozens of songs including tamang cello, jhyaure, and folk song had a special attraction for the French . In the evening, a musical evening was also organized by Sukarma Sangeet Group.

The Nepali ambassador in Paris, Sudhir Bhattarai, while inaugurating the Nepali Fair, urged the French to visit Nepal, claiming that there are 142 ethnic groups and the same number of languages ​​spoken in Nepal, making it an attractive place for tourists in the world. He said that the geographical, social and cultural diversity of Nepal and the hospitality of the Nepalese people are outstanding and unique in the world.  

Nand Kumar Thebe, president of the Nepali Cultural House, told Kantipur that the fair was organized to promote Nepal, Nepali culture and heritage and also to pass on their culture to children.
