Vijay Paudel of Nepali origin has become a candidate for federal parliament of Canada. He registered his candidacy on April 4 for the election to be held on April 28.

He was elected as a candidate for the Federal Parliament from the Humber River-Black Creek (35041) electoral district of Ontario province on behalf of the Conservative Party. Poudel from Bardia, who has been living in Canada for 15 years, also submitted his candidacy in 2021.

Paudel, who is active in the mainstream politics of Canada, has advanced his political journey towards the Federal House.

He is also the president of Canada-Nepal Federation of Commerce and Industry. He played an important role in establishing the Everest Park in the Nepali community. The provincial government of Canada also gave him a 'Responsible Citizen Award' in recognition of his contribution during the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year, he was appointed as a special envoy by the Canadian House of Commons for federal MP Kyle Siback to look into Nepal affairs. He was also appointed as a Community Ambassador by Peel Regional Police last year.

After registering his candidacy, Paudel has said that he is confident of getting the support and goodwill of the Nepali people. He said that his candidacy in this election is supported by three Canadian MPs, the Nepali community and other Canadian communities.

Canada's House of Commons has 343 members elected from different states. According to the Constitution of Canada, the House of Commons is responsible for making and passing federal laws.
