Presentations and interviews have begun for the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Investment Board.

According to the office of the recommendation committee for the appointment of the Board's CEO, presentations of professional work plans and interviews have started for the candidates shortlisted for the position of Chief Executive Officer. On Thursday, four candidates will present their professional work plans and attend interviews, and on Friday, another four candidates will do the same. The duration for each presentation and interview is set at one hour.

The candidates are Sumanman Singh Basnyat, Jitendra Dhital, Dr. Mukunda Prasad Paudyal, Dr. Saroj Koirala, Yangki Ukyab, Bakhat Bahadur Shahi, Manoj Paudel, and Madhu Prasad Bhetuwal. The presentations and interviews for Basnyat, Dhital, Paudyal, and Koirala were held on Thursday, while those for Ukyab, Shahi, Paudel, and Bhetuwal will take place on Friday.

Dhital is the Executive Director of the Employees Provident Fund. Shahi is the former CEO of the Electricity Generation Company and was a candidate from Dailekh in the 2082 House of Representatives election. Bhetuwal is a former Energy Secretary.

The government relieved CEO Sushil Gyawali of his position in Baisakh in accordance with the 'Special Provision Ordinance on the Dismissal of Public Officials 2083'.

A committee was formed under the coordination of Finance Minister and Vice-Chairman of the Investment Board, Swarnim Wagle, to recommend a CEO for the Investment Board. The recommendation committee includes National Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Gunakar Bhatt as a member, and Prime Minister's Policy, Administration, and Good Governance Advisor Sudip Dhakal as an expert member.

The secretariat of the recommendation committee issued a notice on 29 Jestha calling for applications within 15 days. Subsequently, on 18 Asar, the deadline was extended and a new notice was published.
