Eight thematic committees under the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry have been completed. Letters of appointment were handed over to the vice-chairs, members, and advisors of the committees at a program organized at the Federation Secretariat in Teku on Wednesday.
At the program, Acting President of the Federation Surakrishna Vaidya stated that the activeness of the thematic committees is a crucial foundation for the empowerment of the private sector and the country's prosperity. He mentioned that the committees serve as an effective mechanism for policy dialogue, problem-solving, and advancing reform agendas between the government and the private sector. He said, "Members of the committees must utilize their experience, expertise, and professional skills for the economic development of the nation. The committee's objectives will only be fulfilled if they work in a results-oriented manner in the areas of industry, trade, investment, export, entrepreneurship, and employment expansion."
Commodity Vice President Nareshlal Shrestha of the Federation said that the thematic committees are an important foundation for formulating the Federation's policy agenda, and emphasized that the active role of the committees is necessary to advance the common issues of the private sector in an integrated manner. He stressed the need to bring the experiences and suggestions of various commodity associations to the policy decision-making process through the committees.
Associate Vice President Prabaljung Pandey said that the committees should be used as a common platform to identify new ideas, innovations, and business opportunities in the private sector. He mentioned that the committees should play a leading role in advancing reform proposals through fact-based dialogue with the government.
Treasurer Manishlal Pradhan stated that the effectiveness of the committees will be measured by their performance. He urged members to focus on solving practical problems of the private sector and expanding economic activities. He expressed confidence that the committees' suggestions would further strengthen the Federation's policy stance.
Letters of appointment were provided to the vice-chairs, members, and advisors of the Industry Committee chaired by Executive Committee Member Ujjwal Shrestha, the Tax and Revenue Committee chaired by Araniko Rajbhandari, the Skills Development and Employment Committee chaired by Naniraj Ghimire, the Export Promotion Committee chaired by Hom Prasad Dahal, the Social Service and Disaster and Calamity Committee chaired by Rajkumar Karki, the Capital Market Committee chaired by Priyaraj Regmi, the Women Entrepreneur Development Committee chaired by Sanita Nemafuki, and the Startup and Innovation Committee chaired by Sahara Joshi.
