The number of tourists visiting Chitwan National Park in the last fiscal year has reached 272,923. The number of tourists visiting Chitwan National Park used to be highest in the month of Kartik and gradually decreased. After Kartik, many tourists used to visit in Chait. After that, 88,665 foreigners visited Chitwan National Park. Information officer Thapa Magar said that 22,883 people from SAARC countries visited the park.

Most of the tourists visiting Chitwan National Park from SAARC countries are Indians. Indians have come in large numbers this time in Jestha and Asar. In Jestha, 5,863 people from SAARC countries visited the park and in Asar, 3,028 people. Before that, 3,012 people from SAARC countries visited Chitwan National Park in Poush. In other months, the number of SAARC countries visiting the park ranges from 393 to 2,344.

Domestic tourists have also come the most in Vaishakh after Kartik. The number of foreign tourists is higher in Falgun after Kartik. The number of foreigners visiting Chitwan National Park at other times other than these two months is less than 10,000.

The number of foreign tourists visiting the park started decreasing after the 2072 earthquake. It has not yet returned to its previous state. Since then, the number of Nepalis has been very high. In the fiscal year 081/82, 231,329 tourists visited the park. The number of tourists visiting the park has increased by 41,594 compared to the previous fiscal year. The number of SAARC and foreign tourists visiting the park has decreased compared to the previous fiscal year. But the number of Nepalese visiting the park has increased. In 081/82, 117,206 Nepalis visited the park.

Chitwan National Park is the first destination for tourists who like to observe wildlife. There are rare wild animals such as the leopard, the Asian one-horned rhinoceros, and the gharial crocodile here. Tourists visiting the park roam the forest on jeep safaris and elephant safaris.

Chitwan National Park earned Rs 276.339 million from ecotourism in the last fiscal year. Including this, the park's total income is Rs 31.164 million. Before that, in 081/82, the park's total revenue income exceeded Rs. 338.6 million.  Revenue income is affected by the decrease in the number of foreign tourists.
