The NEPSE index, which measures stock market activity, rose by 6.11 points on Tuesday. The NEPSE, which had been falling continuously for the previous four trading days, improved by single digits on Tuesday.
Investors have analyzed Tuesday's improvement as a correction (a market that had been falling for several days has changed direction). The NEPSE index fell by a high number in the first hour of the stock market. Then the market recovered and started rising.
At around 12:45 PM, the NEPSE reached its highest intraday high of 2584 points today. After that, the growth rate started to decline. Accordingly, when the market closed, the NEPSE closed at 2576.29, down by about 6.25 points. This is an increase of 0.23 percent compared to the previous day.
Out of the companies that traded on Tuesday, the share prices of 164 companies increased while 101 companies decreased. However, the prices of 10 companies remained stable on that day.
A total of 18,293,596 shares were traded on Tuesday in 53,854 transactions. The transaction value of those transactions is Rs 8.41 billion 75 million.
Compared to the previous day, indicators including the transaction amount, number of shares traded and transaction times have increased. On Monday, a total of 41,725,323 shares were traded in 51,295 transactions. The transaction value of those transactions was Rs 7.46 billion 84 million.
Among the 13 subgroups that were traded on Tuesday, all indices except production and processing increased, leading to an overall improvement of about 6 points in the NEPSE. However, the index of the production and processing subgroup decreased by 0.18 percent.
