30,000 tons of DAP fertilizer from an agricultural materials company has arrived at the Kolkata port. The company's regional office in Birgunj, which was awarded the tender for the supply of this fertilizer, brought it to Kolkata from a third country two days ago, informed Durga Prasad Pandey.
He said that it will take about a week to pack the fertilizer in sacks at the Kolkata port and bring it to Nepal. He claims that this fertilizer will provide a lot of relief at a time when there is a demand for DAP and urea fertilizer during the rainy rice crop season.
He said that out of the total 30,000 tons of DAP fertilizer, about 11,000 tons will be received by the Birgunj regional office. The rest will be received by the Biratnagar and Bhairahawa regional offices.
He said that after DAP, urea fertilizer will also arrive at the Kolkata port within a week.
