The National Assembly meeting on Tuesday passed the 'Appropriation Bill-2083' received with a message from the House of Representatives by a majority.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle had presented a proposal in the meeting to pass the bill. The proposal was presented for decision by the Speaker of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal and announced that it was passed by a majority.

Earlier in the meeting, MPs Samjhana Devkota, Minasingh Rakhal and Somnath Portel had proposed expenditure cuts under various headings under the Appropriation Bill-2083. The expenditure cuts were rejected by a majority. 

Meanwhile, the National Assembly meeting has approved a proposal to consider the National Debt Collection Bill, 2083, received with a message from the House of Representatives. The proposal presented by Finance Minister Wagle was unanimously approved by the meeting. Presenting the proposal, Minister Wagle clarified that the government has only taken concessional loans.

Earlier, in the discussion on the proposal, MPs Ram Kumari Jhakri,  Prem Prasad Dangal and Khamma Bahadur Khati participated and expressed their views.
