The Nepal Merchant Bankers Association met with Board Chairman Gopal Bhatta on Thursday to discuss the priorities of the capital market.
The association is confident that Nepal's capital market will become more effective, transparent and reliable under the leadership of Board Chairman Bhatta. Chairman Bhatta said that cooperation and continuous dialogue with the Nepal Merchant Bankers Association will be given priority.
The discussion included detailed discussions on various contemporary issues related to the development of Nepal's capital market. In particular, views were exchanged on issues related to mutual funds, initial public offerings and private equity, creating an investment-friendly environment and making the capital market more dynamic and effective, according to a statement issued by the association.
‘Both sides also emphasized the need to strengthen investor confidence by enhancing transparency, good governance and regulatory effectiveness in the market,’ the statement said.
Both the association and SEBON have expressed their commitment to further strengthen mutual cooperation, coordination and continuous dialogue for the sustainable, systematic and inclusive development of Nepal’s capital market.
