The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has invited applications for the appointment of office bearers and members of 17 subordinate bodies. According to the details made public by the ministry, 3,414 of the applicants are men, 921 are women and 13 are of other genders.

Applications were invited for vacant posts in the bodies under the ministry on April 31. The last date for submitting applications was June 6. An official of the ministry said that the evaluation process of applications received within the specified period has already begun.

From an agency perspective, the highest number of 855 people have applied to the Nepal Tourism Board. Then, 578 people have applied to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. 476 people have applied to the Pashupati Area Development Fund. 465 people have applied to the Lumbini Area Development Fund, 438 to the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama, and 196 people have applied to the Academy of Music and Drama.

Similarly, 186 people have applied to the Greater Janakpur Area Development Council, 166 to the Academy of Fine Arts, 151 to the Cultural Institute, and 149 to the Nepal Tourism, Hotel and Mountaineering Foundation (NATHAM). 134 people have applied to the Boudhanath Area Development Committee, 109 to the Tara Village Development Committee, 102 to the Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee, and 100 to the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Museum Development Committee. 91 people have applied to the Patan Museum Development Committee, 88 to the Devghat Area Development Committee, and 86 to the Nepal Panchang Decision Development Committee.

The ministry has stated that the evaluation committee is studying all the applications received. The individuals included in the roster list will be appointed as various experts, advisors, members, and other responsibilities in the ministry and subordinate bodies as required.

After the government implemented the 'Special Provisions Ordinance Concerning the Removal of Public Officials, 2083' through the gazette notification on Baisakh 19, more than 1,500 appointments of 110 public bodies, including the Ministry of Tourism, were automatically cancelled. The ordinance had made arrangements for the automatic removal of officials appointed to public bodies before Chaitra 12, 2082 BS. The officials of those bodies, including the chairperson, vice-chairperson, director, general manager, executive director, vice-chancellor, registrar, etc., were automatically removed.

After the issuance of this ordinance, the Ministry of Tourism had announced that it would issue a notice for applications from experts for its subordinate bodies and prepare a roster of all of them. There is a provision for a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 19 officials in these bodies under the Ministry of Tourism.
