Kantipur Correspondent (Kathmandu) A new five-hundred rupee note will be in circulation from today. The Nepal Rastra Bank has introduced a new note in the same size and color as the previous five-hundred rupee note.
‘This notice has been published for the information of the general public as the note with the code number Jha 38 000001 to T 83 999999 will be in circulation from Ashar 3, Samvat 2083 BS,’ the Rastra Bank’s notice said.
These are the features of the note
On the front of the note
1. In the middle section of the note, there is a promising phrase that says, “Shri Nepal Rastra Bank, if you come to demand payment of this money guaranteed by the Government of Nepal, you will get five hundred rupees from Nepal Rastra Bank immediately.”
2. On the left side of the note, there is a picture of Mount Everest and on the right side, there is a watermark of red currant, and on the bottom section, there is a series number “B.S. 2082” is written. In addition, there are two black dots on the left side of the watermark for the visually impaired to identify the denomination of the note by touch.
3. On the right side of Mount Everest, there is a picture of Kuber, which looks golden when viewed straight on and green when viewed obliquely, inside an oval shape.
4. The note bears the signature of Governor Bishwanath Poudel.
5. The note has a 3.5 mm wide security thread, which looks red when viewed straight on and green when viewed obliquely.
On the obverse of the note.
1. In the middle section of the note, there is a picture of a leopard and “NEPAL RASTRA BANK” is written above it.
2. In the lower section of the note, “RUPEES FIVE HUNDRED” and the series number “2025 A.D.” are written.
