Nepal Telecom has requested customers to be alert as it has been found that fraudulent SMS messages are being sent in the name of various banks and digital payment services, including ConnectIPS, by misusing Nepal Telecom's SMS service.

Such messages have been found to encourage customers to enter suspicious websites or links, stating that the account has been suspended, temporarily closed or other problems have occurred.

Nepal Telecom has requested customers to be alert to such SMS messages, phone calls and suspicious links. Before using any link, the company has urged customers to verify information through the official website or mobile app of the concerned organization and to keep their confidential details safe.

The company has suggested not to click on unknown or suspicious links, not to share confidential details including OTP, password, PIN, CVV with anyone and to use only the official channels of the concerned organization for banking and digital payment related information.

If you receive a suspicious SMS, phone call or link, you have been asked to immediately inform the relevant organization.
