The Independent Power Producers Association of Nepal (IPPAN) is electing a new working committee from its 24th annual general meeting. The current senior vice-chairman, Mohan Dangi, will automatically become the chairman of the new working committee.

Uttam Bhlon Lama and Balram Khatiwada have filed their candidacies for the senior vice-chairman. Bhlon is the vice-chairman of the current working committee, while Khatiwada is the general secretary.

Susan Karmacharya, Bikram Bista, Him Prasad Pathak, Uttar Kumar Shrestha and Narendra Ballabh Pant have filed their candidacies for the vice-chairman from Bhlon. Similarly, Bharat Prasad Nepal and Bharat Bahadur Khatri are from Khatiwada's group. Similarly, the Khatiwada group has announced Pant and Pathak as its candidates.

Teknath Acharya from Bhlon's group is for the general secretary and Prakash Chandra Dulal from Khatiwada. Only one candidacy has been filed for the deputy general secretary. Where Kavita Pokharel is from the Bholon group. The Khatiwada group has also supported Pokharel.

There is a provision for 5 secretaries in the working committee. The secretaries are Abhinya Malla, Isha Shrestha, Suman Kumari Joshi, Kuber Mani Nepal, Vijay Mohan Bhattarai from the Bholon group, while Krishna Prasad Ghimire and Birendra Bahadur Malla from the Khatiwada group have registered their candidacies but have not been included in the final list of candidates. The Khatiwada group has also named Isha Shrestha and Suman Kumari Joshi as its candidates.

Shankar Basyal from the Bholon team and Mitul Chakraborty Prasad Poudel from the Khatiwada group are running for the treasurer position.

The working committee will have 7 members. The members from the Bholon group are Anup Acharya, Kadam KC, Jagat Bahadur Pokharel, Barnan Lamichhane, Baburam Thapa, while from Khatiwada, Indira Pant, Jagadish Siwakoti, Narayan Kandel, Pradeep Oli, Bhushan Guragain, Milan Khadka, Sakunda Ojha, Santosh Raj Nepal and Somnath Kandel.

There is an arrangement to have 3 female members. Pratima Gyawali is from Bholon. Jyoti Gaire, Sangita Dhamala and Sirjana Khadka are from Khatiwada. However, Gaire has claimed that she is an independent member from both sides.
