Hari Prasad Pandey's group announced on Friday that it would be running for the leadership of the Nepal Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs Association. They announced their panel on behalf of independent entrepreneurs.
After the resignation of the majority office bearers led by Bhuwan Singh Gurung, the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, had sent a letter to hold a special general meeting of the association, saying that the Gurung Working Committee was automatically dissolved as per the association's statute. A writ was filed in the Court of Appeal against this. The court did not issue an interim order as demanded by the Gurung side.
At the announcement meeting, Pandey said that he had filed his candidacy for the post of chairman to make the cost of foreign employment entrepreneurs transparent. 'The policy regarding foreign employment entrepreneurs is creating more problems. The foreign employment sector cannot move forward in this situation. Transparent cost fees must be determined for entrepreneurs to work. We are committed to that,' he said at the announcement meeting, 'The working committee under my leadership will work to establish this policy.'
He is the chairman of the Nepal Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs Unity Committee. His group's first vice-president is Sanju Gurung, general secretary is Nur Prasad Miya, secretary is Nawaraj Luintel, and treasurer is Binita Katuwal. Other positions are yet to be announced.
