Aanchal Kunwar has resigned from the post of Managing Director of e-commerce platform Daraz Nepal. Ben Yi has been appointed as the acting Managing Director of the company. He is currently the Managing Director of Daraz Bangladesh and the Group Chief Commercial Officer.
Ratish Luitel has been appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Daraz Nepal, the statement said. Daraz has said that despite Kunwar's resignation, he will continue to support the company as an advisor for the next few months. The new leadership change is expected to be effective from Asad 17, 2083.
Kunwar had been at the helm of Daraz for the past four and a half years. ‘Under his leadership, Daraz Nepal’s business has more than doubled,’ Daraz said, ‘The company’s customer base has reached over 3 million and its seller network has reached over 24,000, of which 85 percent are small and medium enterprises.’ In addition, Daraz’s reach has expanded to more than 140 locations across the country.’ Daraz noted that with these achievements, Kunwar has played a significant role in promoting entrepreneurship and digital business in Nepal. Kunwar will serve as an advisor until Poush 16 to facilitate the leadership transition.’
