Workers and employees working in the Udayapur Cement Industry have gone on strike after not receiving their salaries for 14 months. The workers and employees working in the industry have started the agitation saying that they have not received their salaries, provident fund, citizen investment fund, insurance and other services and facilities for months.
They have demanded that the government take immediate steps to resolve the issue, saying that the long-term suspension of facilities in the government-owned industry has caused problems in daily life and some employees have even lost their lives.
The workers who protested with banners and pamphlets in the industry premises on Friday said that they have yet to receive 14 months of salaries/bonuses, provident fund amount deducted from salaries for 45 months, citizen investment fund deducted for 35 months, three years of insurance premiums and security and daily wage amounts.

The industry has stated that a large amount is outstanding under various headings including salary, provident fund, citizen investment fund, overtime allowance, insurance, leave assessment, compensatory leave, dearness allowance.
