Experienced mountaineering guide Pasangdawa (Padawa) Sherpa, who climbed Mount Everest for the 30th time on Monday, has announced that he will climb the world's highest peak for the 31st time on Thursday.

Sagar Kumar Poudel, Managing Director of his affiliated mountaineering company Track Nepal Expeditions Pvt. Ltd., gave this information.

According to Poudel, if the weather remains favorable, the Sherpa is expected to reach the summit tomorrow morning. 'He has gone on another climb and is aiming for another successful climb,' Poudel said.

Pasangdawa Sherpa, 49, a resident of Pangboche in Solukhumbu, recently successfully climbed the world's highest peak for the 30th time. With this, he has reached the list of people who have climbed Mount Everest the second most times in the world.

If he makes another successful climb this season, he will come close to matching Kami Rita Sherpa's world record of 32 Everest summits. Pasangdawa Sherpa first climbed Everest in 1998.

He also climbed Everest twice in the same season last year. The competition among Sherpa guides for the record of most Everest summits has been growing in recent years.
