The preliminary projection of provincial GDP by the National Statistics Office shows that Bagmati Province will have the highest economic growth rate of 5.40 percent in consumer prices and Gandaki Province will have 5.01 percent in consumer prices in the current fiscal year. The growth rate of both provinces is higher than the national average growth rate.
The Statistics Office has estimated that the country's economic growth rate will be 3.65 percent in basic prices and 3.85 percent in consumer prices this year. This year, the growth rate of Koshi Province in consumer prices is 3.13 percent, Madhesh 1.31 percent, Lumbini 2.87 percent, Karnali 2.94 percent and Sudurpaschim 3.28 percent.
The National Statistics Office has made an initial estimate that the economic growth rate of Koshi Province will be 2.96 percent, Madhesh 1.13 percent, Bagmati 5.23 percent, Gandaki 4.83 percent, Lumbini 2.70 percent, Karnali 2.77 percent and 3.11 percent at basic prices.
