The export of pickles produced in the country is increasing every year. The Customs Department has data showing that pickles worth Rs 168.69 million were exported in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. During that period, 350,013 kg of pickles produced in Nepal were exported to various countries. The department had started keeping records of pickle exports only from the fiscal year 2077/078. Before that, since the export of pickles was small, there was no separate record keeping. In the fiscal year 2077/078, 11,044 kg of pickles worth Rs 3,922,000 were exported. The department's data shows that pickle exports have been increasing since then. In the fiscal year 2078/079, pickles worth Rs 38.664,000 were exported.

1 lakh 7 thousand 471 kg of pickles worth Rs 78.64 million were imported from China. While pickle exports to India were worth Rs 4 thousand, imports were worth Rs 28.2 million 56 thousand.
