The government is set to intensify the international promotion of the tourism sector, focusing on preparations for 'Visit Nepal 2085'. A special promotional campaign will be launched with the aim of increasing tourist arrivals, increasing spending per tourist and extending the duration of stay.  This is mentioned in the government's policy and program 2083/84. 

The government has stated that a national campaign 'Devbhumi Nepal' will be launched to establish Nepal as a center of world spiritual tourism. In addition, a plan has been put forward to develop religious, cultural, health, study, film, spiritual and leisure tourism as new destinations.

The government has stated that it will prioritize the international promotion of religious areas including Pashupatinath Temple, Lumbini, Janakpurdham and Muktinath Temple through spiritual pilgrimage diplomacy.
