The government has declared the information technology sector as a national strategic industry and has put forward a policy of special financial incentives and investment facilitation to promote exports in this sector. 

Presenting the policy and program at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly on Monday, President Ram Chandra Poudel mentioned that software, digital services, cloud services, cybersecurity, green computing and AI exports will be given priority under this plan.

‘Nepal will be promoted as a hub by developing digital parks, high-capacity data centers and public digital infrastructure,’ President Poudel said, ‘The information technology export industry will be provided with financial incentives, investment facilitation, government support and tax incentives on research and innovation expenses.’
