In the first nine months of the current fiscal year (from Shrawan to Chait), remittances worth Rs 1659 billion have been received through remittances. Compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, remittance inflows have increased by 39.1 percent up to Chait of the current fiscal year. Last year, remittances had increased by 10.2 percent.
Similarly, remittance inflows in the month of Chait 2082 stood at Rs 29.75 billion. In the same month of the previous year, remittance inflows were Rs 139.54 billion. Remittance inflows in US dollars increased by 31.9 percent to Rs 11.55 billion during the review period. Last year, such inflows had increased by 7.5 percent.
In the last nine months, the number of Nepalis who received final labor permits (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment is 294,186 and the number of those who received re-labor permits is 293,259. In the same period last year, such numbers were 358,222 and 249,652, respectively.
